Distinguished Woman Leader in Policing and Public Safety Excellence Award

The Women Leader in Police Excellence Award is to be awarded to any officer who gives her life in the line of duty or to any officer who distinguishes herself by an act of bravery or heroism, at risk of her own personal safety or in the face of great danger, above and beyond the call of duty.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Must be a female law enforced officer encompassing the criteria of Excellence in Performance.
  • Has history of excellence in leadership, community service and day-to-day performance.
  • Demonstrates skills problem solving, communication and administration.
  • Should be an officer who has spent her life in the line of duty.
  • Is a distinguished officer by an act of bravery or heroism, at risk of her own personal safety.
  • Takes part in community or school projects, town meetings, or community-related activities.
  • Volunteers in their community events or plays an active role in volunteer community work.
  • Possess perceptible skills or actions that have assisted women in law enforcement.
  • Have developed programs or policies or took actions favorable to women.
  • Took actions served on committees to review women's issues and propose recommendations.
  • Encourages women to join police and support them in their career.
  • Can be any law enforced female officer reached a landmark year of 25,30, or35 years of service.
  • Can have years of service a combination of different departments.
  • Name that is submitted, who meets the qualifications, will be recognized.
