Presented each year as the flagship of the Institute’s awards programs, it advocates excellence and inspires others to follow the lead of individuals who have made a positive impact on the lives of many.

Dr Gene Amdahl, Former Director, IBM and Founder, Amdahl Corporation

Dr. Gene Amdahl is a pioneering computer architect and entrepreneur whose outstanding innovation and creativity has helped usher the information age. He has gone the extra mile by lending support to emergent technologies and new players in the IT industry. Dr Amdhal has inspired IT entrepreneurs around the world to dream and dare and find their rightful place in a knowledge-driven global economy.

Larry Ellison, Founder and CEO, Oracle Corporation

Lawrence Joseph Ellison is a luminary in the field of information technology.  Oracle, the company he has founded, is a global leader in enterprise software development. Through passion and dedication, Mr. Ellison has emerged from humble beginnings to rank among the world’s richest individuals. His deep commitment to the advancement of IT coupled with his numerous charitable initiatives has made him a role model for the young generation.

Al Gore, Former US Vice President and Nobel Laureate

Al Gore is the 45th Vice President of the United States. He is a staunch environmental crusader, book author, journalist and entrepreneur. He was conferred the Nobel Peace Prize for his tireless efforts in alarming the world on the emergency of global warming and climate change. In addition, Mr Gore promotes positive change through his myriad roles in the global economy, information technology and various humanitarian causes.

Kim Phuc, UN Goodwill Ambassador

Kim Phuc was catapulted to international popularity at the age of 9 as the harrowing face of the Vietnam War. Despite many trials and adversities, Ms Kim has risen above the ravages of war to find peace and pursue her dreams. She established the Kim Phuc Foundation International to aid victims of armed conflict around the world, particularly the young. In 1997, Ms Kim was named UN Goodwill Ambassador, in recognition of her inspiring work, dedication and commitment to peace.

Dominique de Villepin, Former Prime Minister of France

Dominique de Villepin was an accomplished career diplomat before his election as Prime Minister of France. He gained international recognition for his peace advocacy particularly in the Middle East. He is widely acknowledged for his efforts in building friendship and understanding between the Middle East and the rest of the world. In his acceptance speech, Mr. de Villepin dedicated the Award to Jacques Chirac, the former President of France.

Anwar Ibrahim, Former Deputy Prime Minister of Malaysia

Anwar Ibrahim is one of Malaysia’s leading political figures. Prior to his term as Deputy Prime Minister, he was a grassroots leader and mobilizer. His pro-democracy and economic reform agenda has won for him admiration of the international community. He is known as the Great Conciliator, having the ability to build consensus among groups of varying beliefs. His contribution to building solidarity between East and West is his lasting legacy to the world.

Igor Ivanov, - Former Foreign Minister of Russia and Secretary of the Security Council

Igor Sergeyevich Ivanov is an accomplished diplomat and peace advocate. In his capacity as Russian Foreign Minister, he has supported dialogue and peace efforts that have resulted in conflict resolution and greater international understanding. His global leadership, vision, and significant contribution to building a better world have earned for him a special place in global affairs.
