أود في البداية أن أتوجه بخالص الشكر والتقدير للقادة، وصنّاع القرار، والمثقّفون والخبراء، ولكل الداعمين لمسيرتنا المعرفية والتنموية طوال الثمانية عشر عاماً الماضية، وبهذه المناسبة يتشرف معهد جائزة الشرق الأوسط للتميز بتقديم خالص الشكر والتقدير لكم ولمؤسساتكم على دعمكم المتواصل للإنجازات والإبداعات التي تسعى إلى بناء ثقافة التميز، والإرتقاء بأداء المؤسسات الحكومية والخاصة في المنطقة وتطوير القيادات وخاصة المستقبلية.

إن الإقتصاد العالمي يتجه الآن وأكثر من أي وقت مضى إلى أن يصبح إقتصاداً قائماً على التقنية والمعرفة، كما أن الإدارة الحديثة كانت ولا تزال تشكّل تحدياً لكافة القطاعات والقيادات والمؤسسات الحكومية، وتزداد الحاجة اليوم إلى تطوير أساليب إدارة الإقتصاد المعرفي وبناء نظم تقنية ومعرفية كمعيار أساسي للنجاح والتميز.

وفي إطار هذه التحولات السريعة وعلى مدار 18 عاماً، حرص المعهد والذي أصبح من أهم المؤسسات ذات المرجعية في مجالي المعرفة والمعلومات، على الإلتزام بالمعايير الدولية ليواكب التغيرات الحديثة في مجال الإدارة والجودة، والسعي دائماً للتميز محلياً، إقليمياً، ودولياً. هذا ويقوم المعهد بإستمرار بإجراء البحوث والدراسات الميدانية والتركيز على أفضل الممارسات في أروقة المؤسسات الحكومية والخاصة من أجل التعّرف على أفضل الإنجازات التكنولوجية، والإقتصادية، والمالية، والإجتماعية، والفكرية، والقيادية والإبداعية المبنية على علم الإدارة الحديث والإقتصاد المعرفي بهدف تكريم القادة، وصنّاع القرار والتنفيذيين، والمؤسسات التي إستطاعت إحداث تغيير ملحوظ، وترسيخ الأسس والمبادئ القيادية، والمساهمة في بناء المعايير الحديثة للحوكمة والتميز المؤسسي لمستقبل المنطقة وفق معايير التنافسية العالمية.

لقد ساهم المعهد في تطوير وعي المجتمع بالدور الحيوي لمفهوم نقل الخبرات بين الأجيال حتى تترسخ فيه الأسس والمبادئ القيادية الناجحة وتكريم أبرز الشخصيات الإقليمية، والعالمية، وكبار التنفيذيين في القطاعيين الحكومي والخاص من أصحاب الإنجازات الإقتصادية والإدارية المؤثّرة، ولدورهم البارز في الإقتصاد الإقليمي والعالمي الجديد، كما يهدف إلى إحداث نقلة نوعية وتطوير شامل في أداء  كل من ساهموا برؤيتهم الناجحة في إنجاح مؤسساتهم، والذين إستطاعوا الإستفادة من الفرص المتاحة إقليمياً وعالمياً لتحقيق الأهداف الإستراتيجية لمؤسساتهم في ظل المتغيرات والتحديات الإقتصادية، وتحقيق تقدم البشرية بوجه عام على الصعيدين الإقليمي والعالمي.
